First Day Out!

As an introvert I figured quarantine for Covid-19 aka corona virus would be a breeze. I’d get to do the things I love like binge watch Netflix, read an entire book in one sitting and not feel guilty about it, and most importantly not have to cancel plans because I wasn’t in the mood to leave the house. One thing I’ve discovered about this time in isolation is that I enjoy this much more when it is a choice and not mandated.

While adjusting to the new normal of virtual day parties (s/o to all the DJs who have had Club Corona going up almost every night), it has got me ready to ditch my sweats and get jazzy for my first day out. With online shopping at an all time high I’ve put together a few high and low end looks for the ladies to step out in post modern day apocalypse.

Day Party/Brunch Vibes:

No matter if it's mimosa pitchers with the gang or day drinking to celebrate being finally free these look will make sure you’re ready to hit the streets regardless if the streets are ready for you!

Look 1: As a reformed tomboy I love a dress with sneaker combo! This midi dress gives spring vibes with the floral print and is on trend with the slight puff sleeve detail. Simple sneaker of your choice and a leather or denim jacket over the shoulder, and ya girl is ready for bottomless mimosas!

Look 2: I am obsessed with this Citizens of Humanity jumpsuit it comes in an assortment of colors and is so simple, but can do so much! Cuff the leg portions, scrunch the sleeves, unbutton the first few buttons to show a little cleavage or add the mock turtleneck underneath for a layering effect. Add your choice of a heel sandal or even a sneaker for a more casual look.Typically I hate belt bags, but for this look I made an exception to seal the deal.

Look 3: Kimonos during the spring/summer will always be a favorite. For this look I took a lace trimmed navy kimono paired with straight leg distressed denim (I ventured away from skinny jeans and I don’t think I will ever return). This cute mini bag is a must have to carry you through the spring and adds a nice tone to the whole look.

Vacation:

I’ve already planned four vacations in my head for when this thing is over my first stop will most definitely be a beach.

Look 1: While traveling I love to be comfortable. My go to look is a pair of joggers, t-shirt and a fresh pair of kicks. This first look is no different nike joggers, graphic t-shirt, and the Melody Ehsani Jordan OG that dropped the first week of quarantine. It’ll be nice for my feet to glow in the dark down the aisle of the airplane instead of to my living room. Now vacation me please!

Look 2: I like to keep it simple and light when on vacation especially a tropical one. Love this cropped blouse paired with a pair of floral open pleated shorts and earth tone sandals. For exploring purposes I’d ditch the shoes for a pair of comfortable sneakers.

Look 3: Mixing prints and textures is one of my favorite things to do. As a kid I’d love just throwing on my favorite pieces regardless the pattern clash; I just want to say thanks to whoever made the executive decision to say we would call this fashion. While shopping online at misguided I fell in love with this striped jacket and skirt set. For this look I ditched the matching jacket added a floral crop and a neutral kick. I can picture myself in the streets of the tropics already with a margarita in tote! Regardless of how you mix your prints don’t be scared start with the basics of black and whites if you must and slowly graduate.

Date Night:

After cooking everyday I think we can all appreciate the luxury of a nice night out on the town with bae.

Look 1: I love dressing up a good denim so for this look I took a pair of Agolde jeans and paired them with a drappy crop top in a nice spring color to add a bit of sex appeal. Layering is key and I wanted to elevate the look a step further so I added a nice oversized blazer. Complete the look with a simple mule and clutch and you'll be ready for date night.

Look 2: Every woman owns a LBD that is their go-to item for any occasion especially a date night; I wanted to emulate that LBD but give it some high fashion edge. With this look it's sexy and sleek. Depending your style pair the fitted off-white top with the leather skirt or a pair of leather pants. Seal the deal with a statement color tote and either a strappy heel or boot. I’d do a sleek pony or bun with a red lip and bae will definitely be swooning over you!

Look 3: Keep it simple! I own about six of these slinky dresses in short and long variations that literally take me from day to night. This silky number gives you subtle but sexy and the color is super feminine and chic. For this look I let the dress do the talking and paired it with a fringe mini bag and a nude heel.

Hopefully you have stayed sane in the mist of the uncertainty in todays world while still being positive. One of the things that has kept me going is the anticipation of my first day out. I can’t wait to see what everyone steps out in when we finally get a chance to enjoy the company of each other again.

xo,

Bri
