True Life: I’m A T-Shirt Hoarder

I was having a random discussion with my older sister, and we somehow started talking about t-shirts and discovered I am a hoarder of them. I legit have a tee for everything and I can tell you about each event or time in my life that I got them. Like did I miss the memo that they weren’t collectables? This convo begged me to challenge myself to throw out some shirts that no longer served purpose in my wardrobe.

Well how else am I supposed to learn what I can or can’t wear without trying the pieces on for a fun style session? One of the shirts I discovered was this vintage Selena graphic. I have never worn the tee, so I decided to try some different styles out to make sure it remained in the "keep" pile. You all have to thank my niece, Toni, for tiktok how to tutorials to make the style session even more fun! Check it out!

For the first look I went with something on trend turning the tee into a a uniformed crop top, and paired it with a silk slip skirt that has been a staple in my closet. The look can be complete there, but elevate the look more by adding denim and accessorize! The slip skirt I bought a while back, but can be found just about anywhere. Here are some of the place I would suggest in no particular order with ranges of quality:

  1. Free People $78

  2. Alice & Olivia $119

  3. Forever 21 $15

  4. Carbon 38 $168

Now y’all know mom jeans are like a staple item for me so I couldn't continue without a look with them. For this one I let the shirt do its thing, edged up the look with a front tuck, and elevated a step further with a blazer. If you don’t own at least a basic black blazer what are you doing sis? No worries, I got you covered check out some cool blazer finds below:

  1. Revolve $238

  2. Misguided $27

  3. Nordstrom $50

I styled two more looks to show the range of a basic graphic tee and you can do the same taking you from day to night, and business to casual. To check out the full spill on how I spiced up my graphic be sure to tune in to my new IGTV series “How To Style,” and remember the options are limitless!
